Jimmy D., Jimmy D.,
Swung upon a swing so high;
Jimmy D., Jimmy D.,
Thought he could touch the sky.
He swung so high, in fact, one day
He flew out of his swing.
Over the field and lake he flew,
Jimmy sprouted wings!
He said hello to bees and birds;
He looked down on the people.
They walked out of the church and saw him
Twirl around the steeple.
He latched onto an airplane
And went for quite a ride;
He crossed the earth and landed
On the other side
Where flying people were common;
They thought nothing of him.
Soon Jimmy grew tired of flying
(And people calling him “Jim.”)
So back across the earth he flew
And all the way to bed
Where Jimmy woke up knowing
He flew only in his head.
